In this day and age of likes and retweets everyone is obsessed with what others think about them. You could say they give a f*ck about what others think about them. Mark Manson addresses this and many other topics in his book which provides a breath of fresh air in the self-help genre. I think people have always looked at self-help books like they were something that you shouldn’t need and a sign of weakness but I don’t find that to be the case. Mark Manson does a great job with this book of putting the onus on oneself to make the changes you want to see. He uses brash language to catch your attention and bring his point across but that doesn’t lessen the points he makes. His main point that runs through the book is that you only have so many f*cks to give throughout your life and you need to make sure you are spending them on things that truly matter to you. I love the overall message of this book and the way he encourages to take responsibility for your actions.

If I had one problem with the book it would be that the same points were made multiple times with different scenarios but I guess one could say it was to drive the point home. All-in-all Mark Manson made me care about a self-help style book for the first time and left me thinking about the way I approach problems in my life as well as the things I was giving attention to that may not have been as important as I once thought.
