Updates for July

I can’t believe we’re already in July! This year has flown by. It’s been packed with so many things, both good and bad, and honestly the first half of 2020 will be something I never forget.

I wanted to make this post as a little update to what I’ve been doing and some of the things I have planned for July! Of course there will be plenty of gaming and book related content, so nothing to worry about on that front.

Video Games

To start, we are finally getting to the point with the video game industry that we are seeing new game releases and plenty of new content to dig into. I just finished The Last of Us Part 2 not too long ago now and I am almost finished with a second playthrough to clean up the trophies and get that platinum! I already posted my review, but I’ll reiterate here that I thought this was a brilliant game that most everyone should experience.

At the time of posting this I will have also just started playing Iron Man VR on PSVR! I have loved VR since I first tried PlayStation VR on launch day and this is one I have been looking forward to for a while. Iron Man has been my favorite superhero for a long time and having a chance to put on the helmet so to speak is something I can’t pass up! I’ll have an initial impressions post and review up for this one shortly so be on the look out for that!

Another game I’ll be sinking a ton of time into when it releases this month is Ghost of Tsushima! This game looks like it will be an awesome adventure and I can’t wait. It’s drawing comparisons to Breath of the Wild as well as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and nothing could honestly have me more hyped up for it. As with Iron Man you can expect a first impressions post as well as a full review once the game launches!

As the last point for the video game side, I am introdicting a new series of sorts to the blog! It’s no secret that I have always loved Pokémon and I wanted to take a look at some of the older games in the series in a new light. I figured the best way to do this was by revisiting some of my favorites with a fresh playthrough and retrospective review! I am currently playing through a FireRed nuzlocke run, let me know if you want me to tweet as things happen and I can come up with a special hashtag to use throughout these playthroughs!

Books

As for the book side of this blog, I am currently reading a book I was sent with the request of review called Rico Stays. I’m really excited about this opportunity as it is the first time that I have had a publisher reach out to me to review a book and it truly does mean the world to me that I am getting this recognition. I just want to thank everyone reading this for continuing to read my work and interact with it! I’m currently workshopping some ideas for how to better interact with you all and create a community where we can enjoy these things we love together!

I am also still reading It’s About Damn Time by Arlan Hamilton. It’s been a great read so far, I’ve just had so many other things come up lately that have distracted me from it, especially since I’ve been reading it on my phone. It’s definitely “about damn time” I hurry up and finish this book.

As for what I read next, I’m between Chosen Ones by Veronica Roth and continuing my re-read of the Harry Potter series with The Chamber of Secrets. Let me know which I should go for in the comments below!

Finally, I am going to have my third guest on for my Interviews with Bloggers series! I have an idea for a guest, but if you want to be part of it or know of anyone you’d like me to interview please reach out to me and let me know! I am always looking to connect with new bloggers and even learn more about the ones I have already been interacting with!

As always, thanks so much for reading! Let me know what you think about these update style posts in the comments below. I’ve been thinking they might be better suited to an email newsletter, but that only works if it’s something you guys would have interest in. Either way please check back (at least) every Wednesday and Saturday for new posts and sign-up via email to make sure you never miss a thing! Be safe and have a great day!
