Social Distancing (Bonus Post)

During this pandemic we are all being asked to distance ourselves from each other in an effort to stem the spread of Covid-19. As someone who isn’t exactly a social butterfly to begin with this hasn’t been too tough for me, but I imagine that it hasn’t been much fun for most people. While I have been out in the public much more often than I would like to have been due to working a retail job (and clearly they value money more than the health of either customers or workers), anytime I don’t have to be out I am not leaving my house.

Luckily for me all of my hobbies are pretty much solo experiences. As you can tell from the blog I love books and video games, so while I wait for Animal Crossing to release on Friday I have been finishing up some things I have been reading and playing through a classic, and figured I would add a little update to talk to everyone about it.

I just finished The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden, and posted my review earlier today. I was mostly disappointed by it but there was some value to be found there. I am also reading this book I found called I Love You so Mochi by Sarah Kuhn. I found it on the Apple Books app for like 2 dollars and picked it up because I saw it was about Japan, so far it’s fine and I’m sure I will have a review of it soon.

The classic game I’ve been playing is The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. This is one of the best games of all time and revisiting it during this trying time has been awesome. Games like this are such good comfort food and can help me distract myself from all the things going wrong with the world. Plus I’ve been feeling sick so playing something like this where I don’t have to be completely focused at all times has been nice as well.

Well that’s a little update about what I’ve been up to. What have you been doing to pass the time during the pandemic and recommended social distancing? Let me know in the comments or on social media! Reach out and let’s make some real connections!
